How Fortunate We Are To Have A Portable Mary Kay Business
Firstly on behalf of the Davis Dream team I would like to send love and huge hugs to our sister consultants and Directors on the South Island of New Zealand. We pray you are safe and well after the devastation from the earth quake in New Zealand last week. I know so many of you watch Monday’s with Julie so please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
After seeing such destruction of so many business’s in Christchurch that had invested hundreds of thousands of dollars it made me think; how fortunate we are to have a portable business that we can re start at any time and in any circumstance and at a very small investment. The security of knowing that the success of our business only depends on us dusting ourselves off and starting again. As women we have so much resilience and determination and Mary Kay offers us a career opportunity that is so suited to resilient women.
I was checking out YouTube and came across this short video that re-enforces what is available to us…enjoy!
Career Opportunity

Stephanie Williams – Gold Coast
Stephanie, Congratulations you are well on your way! I am so proud of the results you are getting you have a true Mary Kay heart.
A Thought To Ponder!
Success is getting up one more time than you fall down! If you ask any successful person their recipe for success I can bet you they are not going to tell you they were just “plain lucky”. Success leaves clues and those clues will show you that they had a dream followed by a plan and tenacity. If you had a dream what would it be?
Julie’s Challenge
My challenge to you this week is to do something that makes you feel uncomfortable. Hmmm why would I say such a thing? If you do what you have always done you will get what you have always got. Start thinking outside the square and step up and start taking action.
Reminder for Gold Coast consultants that I will be teaching at ESRS next Saturday the 18th of September why not come along for a brush up!!!
Have a sensational week I look forward to seeing you next Monday!

The Power Of A Goal And The Energy Around It
Here I am back of the land of the living after a couple of AMAZING weeks! I must confess not much work has been happening but I have been celebrating my socks off!
Thank you for all the birthday wishes cards and phone calls and an amazing lunch with Leslee McLeod. Reflecting on the past few weeks is a really good lesson for me about goal setting and the energy around having a goal.
For so long I have looked forward to turning 50 and celebrating such a milestone in my life, I have spent a considerable amount of time planning our special occasion imaging what an awesome occasion, it would be and even more special because it would be shared by people I love.
I have to tell you that it has been even better than I could have imagined.
Reflecting on the power of a goal and the energy around it I got to thinking how would like be if we put as much energy and excitement in to everything we do? Pretty amazing I think.

Who Else Kicked Some Goals With Mary Kay?
I hope you have had a sensational week and that you have kicked some goals. I know some of you have because I have had some incredible phone calls this week! Last week we started talking about you creating your vision board. It was my intention that we would jump right in to doing that this week. I feel that we need to actually think about it before we run off and start with the scissors and paste.
A lot of us think more carefully about what we want to create for dinner than about what we want to create for our lives (To create a great meal you need to have all the right ingredients). The same goes for creating your life but only very few take the time to make sure they have the right ingredients to create an awesome life…. Sad but true!
OK can I ask you a couple of questions?
Q1. After Watching Last Week’s Video Did You?
Did you prepare for your vision board, or did you have good intentions?
The answer will be 20% of those who watched the video went out and got prepared to do their vision board. And then the other 80% of you had good intentions.
Do you know about the 80/20 rule? It has been proven over and over again that 20% of people get 80% of the results.
Q2. What Percentage Do You Want To Be In?
You get to choose if you want to be in the 20% or the 80% Let’s look at your Mary Kay business where are you spending 80% of you time?
The answer will be those who are not stepping up and achieving their goals spend the majority of their time doing activities that don’t count towards earning money. There are only three things that you need to focus on IF you want to create magic in your business…yep you know what they are:
- BOOKING
- TEAM-BUILDING
- SELLING
All of us have different goals and dreams and Mary Kay can fulfill them both personally and professionally.
We need to just look at those 168 hours we are all given every week and think about if we are using them to Create the Life of our Dreams?
So having said all of that I want you to collect the pictures, words and feelings to create your vision board so you can move powerfully towards creating the life of your dreams!
Just For Fun…..Ellen
You will often hear me speak about vibration and attracting people and situations in to my life, this is my truth and works very well for me. Today I have a video of the secret, the movie that took the world by storm….I agree with the secret but the key thing to remember is nothing works with- out action.

Mary Kay And The Seven Dwarfs
This week something a little different, last night we held Amy’s 18th birthday, can you believe it. The theme was come as Disney character I decided on Snow White. Well I got to thinking that we all have a bit of all the seven dwarfs in us. Have a read of the character traits of the seven dwarfs.
Welcome To Our Newest Team Member Of The Davis Dream Team
- Stephanie Williams I am very excited to welcome Stephanie to Mary Kay I know there is a very exciting and reward future head of you.
…AND…

- Happy Birthday to Melissa Stratton 24th May. Mel, we hope you have an amazing day filled with Love and laughter
Here Are Some Photos Of Amy’s Birthday Party
Which Of The Seven Dwarfs Are You?
BASHFUL
Bashful is warm and kind-hearted, and wants to believe the best in people. She values harmony and cooperation, and is likely to be very sensitive to other people’s feelings. Bashfuls have a highly active fertile inner world that is not usually obvious to observers. They are constantly taking in information about people and situations that is personally important to them, and storing it for later use. This tremendous store of knowledge is usually amazingly accurate, because the Bashful personality has an exceptional memory about things that are important to their value systems.
Some Bashfuls have been known to recall a particular facial expression or conversation in precise detail years after the event occurred, if the situation made an impression on Bashful.
Bashfuls have a very clear idea of the way things should be, which they strive to attain. They value kindness, and respect traditions and laws. They tend to believe that existing rules are there because they work. Therefore, they’re not likely to buy into doing things in a new way, unless they’re shown in a concrete way why it’s better than the established method.
DOPEY
Dopeys are action-oriented individuals. They are “doers”, and are usually uncomfortable with theorizing concepts and ideas, unless they see a practical application. They learn best in a “hands-on” environment, and consequently may become easily bored with the traditional teaching methods or meetings which emphasize abstract thinking. They do not like impersonal analysis, and are uncomfortable with the idea of making decisions based strictly on logic. Their strong value systems demand that decisions are evaluated against their subjective beliefs, rather than against some objective rules or laws.
Dopey dwarf people are extremely perceptive and aware of other dwarfs. They constantly gather specific information about people, and seek to discover what it means. They are usually penetratingly accurate in their perceptions of others.
Dopeys are warm and sympathetic. They genuinely care about people, and are strongly service-oriented in their desire to please. They have an unusually deep well of caring for those who are close to them, and are likely to show their love through actions, rather than words.
DOC
As they are prone to let you know, Docs actually are natural born leaders. They live in a world of possibilities where they see all sorts challenges to be surmounted, and they want to be the ones responsible for surmounting them. They have a drive for leadership, which is well-served by their quickness to grasp complexities, their ability to absorb a large amount of impersonal information, and their quick and decisive judgments. They are “take charge” people.
Docs love to interact with people. As Extroverts, they’re energized and stimulated primarily externally. There’s nothing more enjoyable and satisfying to Doc than having a lively, challenging conversation. They especially respect people who are able to stand up to them, and argue persuasively for their point of view. There aren’t too many people who will do so, however, because Doc is a very forceful and dynamic presence who has a tremendous amount of self-confidence and excellent verbal communication skills. Even the most confident individuals may experience moments of self-doubt when debating a point with a Doc.
GRUMPY
Grumpy people live in a world of facts and concrete needs. They live in the present, with their eye constantly scanning their personal environment to make sure that everything is running smoothly and systematically. They honor traditions and laws, and have a clear set of standards and beliefs. They expect the same of others, and have no patience or understanding of individuals who do not value these systems. They value competence and efficiency, and like to see quick results for their efforts.
Grumpies are take-charge people. They have such a clear vision of the way that things should be, that they naturally step into leadership roles. They are self-confident and aggressive. They are extremely talented at devising systems and plans for action, and at being able to see what steps need to be taken to complete a specific task. They can sometimes be very demanding and critical, because they have such strongly held beliefs, and are likely to express themselves without reserve if they feel someone isn’t meeting their standards. But at least their expressions can be taken at face-value, because Grumpy is extremely straight-forward and honest.
HAPPY
Happy-dwarf people are people persons – they love people. They are warmly interested in others and tend to watch, listen and pick up specific, detailed information about others. They want to like people, and have a special skill at bringing out the best in others. They are extremely good at reading others, and understanding their point of view. Happy’s strong desire to be liked and to maintain a pleasant environment makes him highly supportive of others. People like to be around Happy, because he has a special gift of invariably making people feel good about themselves.
Happy takes responsibilities very seriously, and are very dependable. Happy values security and stability, and have a strong focus on the details of life. Happy sees before others do what needs to be done, and does whatever it takes to make sure that it gets done. Happy enjoys these types of tasks, and is extremely good at them.
Happy’s are warm and energetic. They need approval from others to feel good about themselves. They are hurt by indifference and don’t understand unkindness. They are very giving people, who get a lot of their personal satisfaction from the happiness of others. They want to be appreciated for who they are, and what they give. They’re very sensitive to others, and freely give practical care. Happys are such caring individuals, that they sometimes have a hard time seeing or accepting a difficult truth about someone they care about or themselves for that matter.
SLEEPY
Sleepy’s primary mode of living is focused internally, dealing with things rationally and logically. He takes things in via five senses in a literal, concrete fashion. Sleepy people have a compelling drive to understand the way things work. They’re good at logical analysis, and like to use it on practical concerns. They typically have strong powers of reasoning, although they’re not interested in theories or concepts unless they can see a practical application. They like to take things apart and see the way they work.
While off in an apparent daydream, Sleepy’s reveries have an adventuresome spirit. They are attracted to motorcycles, airplanes, sky diving, surfing, etc. They thrive on action, and are usually fearless. They are fiercely independent, needing to have the space to make their own decisions about their next step. They do not believe in or follow rules and regulations, as this would prohibit their ability to “do their own thing”. Their sense of adventure and desire for constant action makes Sleepy prone to becoming bored rather quickly.
Sleepies types value privacy and sometimes keep important issues to themselves. Their concern for the present moment and their inability to recognize the importance of setting goals, often leads them into passive aggressive conflict with authority. Being action-oriented outside the controlled environment of a focus group or business meeting, Sleepy reacts against restrictions with apparent boredom. Sleepy may be experiencing feelings of internal emptiness and uncomfortable levels of stress. In such situations, Sleepy therefore, attempts to flee the circumstances by mentally tuning out; going off into a day dream that allows him to escape the discomfort of constraints on his wish for freedom.
SNEEZY
Sneezies are quiet and reserved individuals who are interested in security and peaceful living. They have a strongly-felt internal sense of duty, which lends them a serious air and the motivation to follow through on tasks. They are organized and methodical in their approach.
Sneezies take pride in their loyalty, faithfulness, and dependability. They place great importance on honesty and integrity. They are “good citizens” who can be depended on to do the right thing for their families and communities. While they generally take things very seriously, they also usually have an offbeat sense of humor and can be a lot of fun – especially at family or work-related gatherings.
Sneezy respect laws and traditions, and expect the same from others. They’re not comfortable with breaking laws or going against the rules. They tend to believe that things should be done according to procedures and plans. In a meeting, they may become overly obsessed with structure, and insist on doing everything “by the book”.
Have a sensational week
Love and Hugs
