Here I am back of the land of the living after a couple of AMAZING weeks! I must confess not much work has been happening but I have been celebrating my socks off!

Thank you for all the birthday wishes cards and phone calls and an amazing lunch with Leslee McLeod.  Reflecting on the past few weeks is a really good lesson for me about goal setting and the energy around having a goal.

For so long I have looked forward to turning 50 and celebrating such a milestone in my life, I have spent a considerable amount of time planning our special occasion imaging what an awesome occasion,  it would be  and even more special because it would be shared by people I love.

I have to tell you that it has been even better than I could have imagined.

Reflecting on the power of a goal and the energy around it I got to thinking how would like be if we put as much energy and excitement in to everything we do? Pretty amazing I think.

A  New Goal Is Set And I Have Taken ACTION

So here is what you are going to be hearing about for the next ten months or so. We will be celebrating our birthday’s next year in The UK I have booked our business class tickets to fly via Hong Kong to London on June 21st 2011 to say I am excited is an understatement and fulfilling a life- long dream.

So this year will be huge taking advantage of the opportunities we have with Mary Kay.

This Monday is a Celebration of Success over the past year! Congratulations to the top five achievers in the Davis Dream Team.

I hope you are enjoying this long weekend.

I am writing this at the end of a long day, my day started at 4 am this morning when we attended the dawn service for Anzac day.

Amy was selected to be a guest speaker at the dawn service. She gave a heartfelt speech to several hundred guests, she spoke beautifully and both Peter and I were so proud of her. I am so grateful for discovering the gift of self confidence through Mary Kay and being able to pass that on to both my girls. Peter and I have always exposed them to as many opportunities as possible that allowed them to speak in front of people. Both of them attended speech and drama classes from an early age and have gone on to compete in eisteddfods and then on to debating in high school.

I don’t think I would have ever appreciated the value of public speaking and confidence if it had been for Mary Kay. When I started my MK journey I could hardly say boo….well the rest is history!

I thought today I would share a few pictures of the girls many of you have known me pre marriage 21 years ago and been such a big part of my life. I thank you for that and know that no matter how long I have known you, that you have added something special to my life. I thank you for that and feel blessed on a daily basis.

My Life Lessons

I want to share a process that I do on a daily basis (mostly any way) I want to share it with you because it has really helped me “sort stuff” and get clarity.

Every morning I sit and brain dump EVERY THING that is in my head, often it makes no sense. I get everything dumped down on two foolscap pages. Everything, that’s “going on in my life”.

I then write one foolscap page of gratitude for everything in my life, I have no trouble at all filling that page! In fact I could write ten pages of gratitude. I am grateful for both the blessings and the challenges, I look at challenges as reminders of lessons I need to learn.

I would really urge you to also invest 30 minutes a day following this procedure for me I find it really productive and extremely spiritual.

Hello and welcome to this week’s MWJ. My life has been somewhat of a whirl wind in the past weeks. Today I am in Sydney last week I was in Melbourne and Canberra.

My Apologies

Firstly let me apologise for our technical hitches last week, we did make a video in Melbourne but Peter was unable to load it up so it could come out with lasts week’s MWJ. Life sometimes throws you challenges! I spent last Thursday with the lovely Canberra girls, we had a sensational day. Thank you to Kim who very kindly offered the use of her business premise “The Elite Model Academy” very much appreciated Kim, thank you. Getting together on a regular basis has enormous benefits therefore the Canberra girls decided that they would meet every second Wednesday for training and inspiration. Today Is The End Of The Month

The month comes to a close today, and what a month it has been. Records have been broken with the company selling 6 month’s supply of product in two weeks. Thank you for your patience! A Funny Thing This Morning…

Good morning, today I am coming to you from Melbourne. It has been an amazing weekend here and a great learning opportunity for me. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing life. I am so truly grateful for the blessings that I have in my life, those blessings include you!

Tomorrow I jump on a plane and get to visit all my lovely unit members in Canberra. I am so looking forward to seeing you. It has been way to long and I really miss you all.

A funny thing this morning I had a call from Mary Kay head office, during my conversation with Peter Nankervis we got chatting about the opportunity for MK in Canberra. He is of the same opinion as me that if we could just find that right person to step up it would be an incredible opportunity for both them and MK. I believe with all my heart that the opportunity in Canberra is nothing short of amazing. I really want to work with a couple consultants in Canberra who would like to have GREAT BUSINESS ….who knows maybe it’s you? The Davis Unit Is Achieving Outstanding Results

Well, once again The Davis Unit is achieving outstanding results. We are on our way to another fabulous month. We are achieving great results with the size we have, like anything else in life if you are not moving forward you are going backwards. My focus and goal is to grow our unit and increase the number of consultants. Each month I have set a target of 10% growth so this month we need to grow by two new team members.

Wow! What An Action Packed Week

I have hit the ground running, and I hope you have too.

The highlight of my week was Friday night when we held a really super successful fashion parade. I work closely with a friend of mine Mechelle from Who’s Lucy; I have told you about her previously she owns a fashion store here on the Gold Coast. Three times a year she holds a charity event and fund raiser this helps both the charity as well as her business profile. The parade was a huge success with 150 attending. We had the opportunity to fly the Mary Kay flag and two of our lovely Gold Coast consultants Melissa Britton and Jayde Mainwaring did a fantastic job on models makeup. This opportunity gave them many leads to follow up and help their business grow.

Over the next few weeks I am going to share with you how to create opportunities to grow your business and follow them up.

This Week Something A Little Different!

I thought I would share a couple of videos I found that will firstly let you see a bigger picture and secondly give you some tips on makeup application from a couple of Mary Kay makeup artists. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

I have a very busy week coming up preparing for a week long training program here on the Gold Coast where I will be part of an amazing group of Entrepreneurs…more on that in the coming weeks all I can say is that I AM EXCITED.

A Very Special Hug From All Of Us…

To our Kim Stewart, she has spent 8 weeks out of the last 13 in Mater Children’s Hospital Brisbane, Kim delivered twin girls in December after spending over a month at Ronald McDonald house in Brisbane. One of the girls had CHD congenital Heart Defect and underwent major surgery last week. The news is all good and Kim is now home with her beautiful family. Way to go Kim I see you are already out there flying your Mary Kay flag and promoting your business…well done, you truly are an inspiration to us all. It is a very funny thing about successful people, they often have every reason to not succeed…..but they do it anyway!!!

Well, I don’t know about you but this week has flown! There just does not seem to be enough hours in the day and if you are like me you have lots of good intentions and then feel guilty because we do not achieve anything. This week I would like just to touch a little bit on time management for me this is very relevant because I have so much to fit in and it is very easy to go into overwhelm…..and often I do. I think we all feel we have too much on our plates and we feel like we can’t cope. That is true for me anyway!

Today I want to look at a few tools that we can use to help keep us on track, along with a few tips that will help you get going in your business.

Weekly Plan Sheet

To help you plan what you want to accomplish, consider using a weekly plan sheet (available to down load from the community page) that will help you identify what time slots you can fit in your Mary Kay activities.

Weekly Summary Sheet

At the end of each week, I recommend that you complete a weekly plan sheet to track your sales at a glance. Remember to also fill in the reverse side so I can help you in any area that you feel you need some extra coaching.

Six Most Important Things

Each night before going to bed, plan the following day. Write a list of tasks in order of importance and as you have completed each one cross it out, then carry over any remaining until the next day….making sure those uncompleted tasks go to the top of the list.

Managing Your Money

You don’t have to be a whiz with finances to own a successful business. You need to follow a few basics to get started.

Set up a separate account for your MK business, I would recommend that you add a visa debit card to that account. Bank ALL your MK money so you can track it, (then withdraw if you need to) this will help with keeping track of profit and costs. You can follow the 60/40 rule, here is how it works

• Once you have enough inventory, to support your business, you can continue to deposit all of your sales each week, into your business account.
• At the end of the week, maintain 60 % of the total amounts of your deposits for that week in your account to cover inventory
• Then you can use the remaining 40% for expenses and to pay yourself.

Last week I asked you what did goal setting and chocolate cakes have in common? Well a lot actually, today I am sharing with you some of the wonderful session that NSD Norelle Turner-Allen took at the smart start workshop I attended last week. She made some very good points through her presentation and revealed a few AHA moments for me. It is like anything in life unless you follow the correct order and sequence of things you are bound to get off track. I hope it makes as much sense to you as it did to me!

Welcome to Mondays with Julie, well Christmas now seems a distant memory and we are well in to 2010! Some of you are still taking time out and enjoying a well earned break while others of us are back into the cut and thrust of life.

Smart Start Getting Started

On Saturday , I attended a smart start getting started workshop. It was a great way to jump into the New Year and a good reminder about the opportunity we have to build a profitable business, often we don’t see the opportunities we have in front of us and understand how easy it actually is. This year my goal is to be a ‘doer‘ not a ‘gunna‘, and take baby steps each day in achieving my goals instead of thinking I am superwoman and think I can achieve my goals in a single but mighty bound….and then crash to earth miserably!!!

Success is achieved by the daily habits we have and the discipline of doing the things that move us forward to our goals. We need to step out of our comfort zone to have the emotional growth that enables us to step up in to the person we need to be to achieve the lifestyle we deserve.

Well, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed time with those you love. We enjoyed a lovely family Christmas and within a blink on an eye we are at the beginning of a New Year.

For some of you 2009 was a great year and will hold many good memories and for others it may be a year best forgotten.

I love a New Year I always feel refreshed and renewed I get to start with a new diary blank pages ready for the adventures of the coming year!

This year my diary is a little different to most years gone by, this year my diary has already had its first six months planned out in some form or another. Late last year I sat down and thought about what my goals would be this year to arrive at the plan I needed to start “With the end in mind” as Steven covey would say in his famous book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

I started with my income goal and worked back what I would need to do to achieve that goal. I broke my goal down into manageable bite size pieces; I then came up with a plan of what I would need to in income producing activities to achieve that goal. I then made a commitment time wise in my  diary ,  I may get off track and very likely I will….but if I don’t have a plan I would have no chance at all to achieving my goals.

Today I would like to share with you a formula that will help you set your goals for the year. It will help you break them down and make sure it is realistic enough for you to achieve you can use this formula for any goals for the purpose of today I am talking about Mary Kay.

The formula is called the C.R.E.A.T.E  formula…so here goes!

When setting goals/outcomes: Follow this very simple plan

Create Your Outcomes

C = Clear and concise – what is it exactly that I want to achieve

R = Realistic – based on my time and skill level is this achievable

E = Ecological- is it in the best interest of those I care about

A = As Now – feel as if you have already achieved it

T = Toward What You Want – is you motivation negative or positive

E = End Step/Evidence Procedure – how will I know when I achieve this goal

It is now (date)—————————-in the future

I am/I have———————————(End Step)

Did you know that your mind does not know the difference between real and imagined. If you believe with all your heart mind and soul that you have already achieved your goal you will create situations and circumstances that will attract success. I would highly recommend you hire out a movie called The Secret that will explain this in more detail. For me this movie was life changing and answered may questions about stuff that showed up in my life.
