Hello and welcome to this week’s Mondays with Julie.

I hope you had a sensational week. Mine was busy and productive with some great sales and one new team member. I have been thinking this week about how easy it is to get in to a rut and sacrifice your dreams.

Life gets so busy we forget to stop and think about what we really want and how can we add quality to our lives as well as the lives of others. I am just as guilty as you for getting caught up in life.

This week let’s look at where we are at and ask ourselves some really important questions.

• Am I feeling balanced and in control of my life?
• Do I feel like I am moving forward towards my goals and purpose?
• Am I making plans for my future or am I just floating along the river of life?
• Have I thought about where I want to be next month, next year or even in five years?
• Do I feel I am adding value to others?

It takes daily discipline and tenacity to focus on the bigger picture and sometimes you need to have a break with to have a break through. So what do I mean a break with for a break through?

Often we expect to get a different result by doing what we have always done, and then get frustrated and disillusioned when different results don’t show up.

This week I would love for you to take a good look at your future and ask yourself these very important questions. In order for my future to show up who do I need to become?

• What do I need to stop doing?
• What I need to start doing?
• What do I need to continue to do?

Look at what your goals are…and if you don’t have any GET SOME! And then ask yourself. How is your life going to look this time next year if you continue to do what you are doing NOW?

Lots of questions for this week!!!

Davis Dream Team Wins The Presidents Award!

Congratulations to the AMAZING Davis Dream team for being recipients of the Presidents’ Award. We have received this lovely award for achieving all three categories of Activity Productivity and Team Building for 6 months during Seminar Year 2009/10.

Well done and let’s see if we can do it again!

Next weekend I am getting to hang out with some awesome women here on the Gold Coast. One of the members of my business mentoring group Dr Maura McGill is holding a two day event called “A Magical Menopause” Yep… let’s all put our hands up for that one. So next week I will bring you some highlights and I am sure some great advice!

There is a buzz in the air! Lots happening and as we approach spring we are ready for new growth in our unit. So far August has been a busy month with lots of activity especially with all the beautiful product releases! The new pedicure set is sure to be a winner if the last one is anything to go on and the eye crayons have had great reviews.

I am really excited about the number of girls working for the girlfriend get-away in February I am seeing great plans working towards the goal of earning a free trip.  I have a brochure here for you to track your progress you can also print one off from the community page.

Welcome Back To A Shining Star In Our Unit Melanie Cann

Melanie has always been a superstar but has taken on a slower pace the past year or so while getting married, having a baby and moving in to her new home. This week Melanie resumed her Mary Kay business and held a class on Friday night with sales of almost $600 and one booking…well done Mel, so good to have you back.

Another Superstar In The Davis Dream Team

Leslee McLeod had a lovely customer service appointment last week with one of her good clients who ordered almost $700 of products! I bet you would love to have such lovely and loyal customers.

The key to Leslee’s success is that she is so committed to having every one of her clients raving fans of our skin care range they just want to have it all!

Leslee and her husband Trevor and new addition of Brill (the most adorable German shepherd pup) are just about to relocate to the South Coast to their new home.  We wish you the best for your upcoming move!

I don’t know about you but I am so excited to about all the exciting announcements in this month’s Applause Magazine!  Applause is jam packed with new products, rewards and opportunities. I was planning to do a video for you this weekend but instead I have spent most of the weekend in bed with the flu!

However what I wanted to talk about this week is leaving money on the table! My question to you is what are you doing or not doing that is causing you to leave money on the table?

Here are just some of the things that can cause you to leave money on the table.

1. Not watching order levels

You can miss out on a couple of hundred dollars by not ordering at maximum commission. Sometimes it could only cost you $50 to get an additional $300 of product.

Product bonuses are great for either display products or hostess gifts.

Missing out on company function bonuses ESRS is a really good example of leaving money on the table. I have seen orders go through $40 short and you miss out on $300 of free product.

2. Not knowing your products

There are opportunities we miss because we don’t feel confident about our products and what they do. Do you know why the miracle set is the best selling range and the 11 key benefits of using the time wise range? How about the micro-dermabrasion set, do you know why it delivers such great results? Why do women spend hundreds of dollars for spa treatments when we can offer products that deliver incredible and dramatic results?

3. Not knowing the career opportunity

Did you know you could easily earn an extra $300 – $500 a month by talking advantage of Mary Kay’s career path. In these times there is not a better opportunity to share your Mary Kay story and offer that same opportunity to another woman.

4. Not knowing how to conduct a skin care class

Has it been a while? Could you do with a few extra hundred dollars a week or month? Polish up on your presentation and hold a class, facial or open home. My tip would be to get in front of the mirror or turn on the video camera or tape recorder.

These are just a few tips that will help your confidence and put money in the bank. Here I am back of the land of the living after a couple of AMAZING weeks! I must confess not much work has been happening but I have been celebrating my socks off!

Thank you for all the birthday wishes cards and phone calls and an amazing lunch with Leslee McLeod.  Reflecting on the past few weeks is a really good lesson for me about goal setting and the energy around having a goal.

For so long I have looked forward to turning 50 and celebrating such a milestone in my life, I have spent a considerable amount of time planning our special occasion imaging what an awesome occasion,  it would be  and even more special because it would be shared by people I love.

I have to tell you that it has been even better than I could have imagined.

Reflecting on the power of a goal and the energy around it I got to thinking how would like be if we put as much energy and excitement in to everything we do? Pretty amazing I think.

A  New Goal Is Set And I Have Taken ACTION

So here is what you are going to be hearing about for the next ten months or so. We will be celebrating our birthday’s next year in The UK I have booked our business class tickets to fly via Hong Kong to London on June 21st 2011 to say I am excited is an understatement and fulfilling a life- long dream.

So this year will be huge taking advantage of the opportunities we have with Mary Kay.

Well what a history making week it has been! How fast can things change…a blink of an eye as Kevin Rudd unfortunately found out and not in the nicest possible way. Reflecting on the events of the past week I was thinking about how fast things can change and it is not always in the negative. Habits are formed and broken in seconds and we can change the direction of our lives just as quickly.

I always get excited when I approach a new year it is not only a good time for reflection but an even better opportunity to start with a clean slate. Over the past weeks we have been working on our vision boards and my wish for you is that you really do know that anything is possible it’s really only about belief.

This morning I was reading a favourite book of mine. “Ask And It Shall Be Given”, By Esther and Jerry Hicks and I could not stop thinking about how true the title is. It is more than possible to achieve anything we want with unrelenting belief and determination. The biggest challenge we have as women is being connected enough to our desires to clarify what we want. We grow up as little girls having big dreams, goals and desires but somewhere on our journey we give up on our dreams and focus on the wants and desires of others.

When we come to thinking about our desires and goals so often we don’t think we deserve success or our dreams have

been buried away for such a long time and we have to dig deep to discover what we really want. Sometimes it just becomes way too hard. Maybe we may even feel guilty or selfish about wanting good stuff for ourselves?

[I think the biggest challenge we have is the FEEL V’s DO syndrome, have you heard of that? I sure have, actually it is very contagious and there is no known medication at this point. Must I must point out is not abnormal to “not feel like” and the only known remedy is to take the “it does not matter how you feel “pill. You ask any elite athlete if they felt like training six or seven hours a day or ask Grant Hackett did he just love getting up at 4am every morning to train…I think I know the answer but it is a “Whatever it takes” attitude. Winners never quit and quitters never win and they do what- ever is needed to reach the goal.

So this week I am going to leave you with a thought “You have to let the feeling be overcome by the doing – You get a supercharge from the feeling of doing”

We are all the leaders of our own life and it is so important to have role models, Mary Kay Ash has influenced millions of lives – including mine I would like to leave you with a short video on leadership.

How was it for you? Did you achieve what you set out to do or did you not set out to do anything? I want you to reflect on the past year and what showed up for you. Was it good or maybe great or was it average and ordinary.

I give you full permission to leave the past year behind you and start making plans for the next year. I know some of you are very excited about what is ahead of you and many of you are probably not even thinking about it…..my advice to you is to think about what you want from your life both personally and professionally and then ask yourself one very important question. Am I being the sort of person that is doing what is necessary to attract the results I want?

Over the past couple of weeks we have been working on our vision boards. Today I am unveiling mine it represents all the things that are important to me such as my family, my health and of course travel. My goal within two years is to buy a house on acreage. The picture you will see is the house we bought when we moved to the Gold Coast, I really miss the lifestyle so that is a big goal for me, another big goal for me is to travel internationally so I have posted a few places on there too.

The most important thing about setting your goals is that they are clear and visual and that you want to achieve them and you are willing to give up to go up.
